Diana Nowak – Chartered Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist .


Diana undergoes regular Clinical supervision. Diana provides individual and family psychological consultations, counselling, confidential helpline, advising via skype and online counselling as well as the intervention point for couples and spouses. She received numerous awards and distinctions for her educational merits and the activity in the implementation of preventive and educational programs for children and  families. Diana is registered with Health and Care Professions Council.

She participates in scientific seminars, debates and conferences at home and abroad.

She actively participates in the development of the local community and acts as a promoter of healthy lifestyle and a defender of the human rights and dignity in the family and in society.

Apprenticeship: Psychiatric Hospital in Tworki, Wolski Hospital in Warsaw, Special Schools, Youth Community Clubs, Psychological Counselling Centre. Diana is the founder and President of the Polish Psychological and Pedagogical Society in the UK.

Andrew Kocaj - Welfare Advisor


Andrew  graduated in Business Management at Edinburgh Napier University and also studied at Minot State University in North Dakota, USA. Andrew actively represents Polish Family Support Centre in numerous events organised by the governmental agencies and NGOs. Since 2011 he is a member of the  Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations which acts for the best interests of Scottish and Polish charities in the government , local authorities , the private sector and the public.

Apprenticeship: Bank of Scotland (Departments: Private Banking, Specialist Deposit Support, Tax and Trustee Service). He worked for Mazars, one of the largest audit firms in the world, where he gained knowledge in auditing, accounting and taxation. He also volunteered at the Information Service and Policy Committee for the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations .

Awards: For participation in " The Young United Kingdom and Ireland Programme", the programme designed for young talents who work in the government and NGOs.


Ewa Nowak –Support Worker


Ewa graduated with a master’s degree at Świętokrzyski University in Kielce, Poland. In 2005 she moved to Scotland with her family. Ewa was involved in conducting the charity organisations throughout her life. With her qualifications, knowledge and experience gained in Poland, she contributed to the establishment of the Polish Family Support Centre in Edinburgh. Ewa received numerous awards, acknowledgments and recommendations. She has participated in scientific seminars and conferences both at home and abroad. She is the author of numerous publications, essays and articles.

Anna Lisinska - Project Worker

Anna graduated from the Higher School of Banking with Master's degree in Accountancy and Finances. In 2011 Anna received Ministry of Finance Certificate  for offering accounting services. Anna has over 16 years of experience  in working as Accountant. Anna likes to gain new experiences and meet new people and works in the Centre to support and help those most in need.






Justyna Papurzyńska- Parab - Counsellor

Justyna graduated with a master’s degree of Family Psychology from the Maria Curie - Sklodowska University of Psychology and Pedagogy in Lublin. Justyna had work experience in many psychological and educational Centre’s, support institutions and voluntary organisations. Justyna worked with children and youth with difficulties and social dysfunctions, also supported families with social and parenting problems.

Justyna’s work interests: family systematic therapies, relationships psychology, intercultural psychology.

Justyna is a member of The British Psychological Society, Polish Psychologists' Association



Lucyna Mazur-Markatzi

Lucyna came to Scotland in 2016. She started working for the ground handling operator in Edinburgh as an agent dedicated to its airline business customers. Prior to that in Poland she had been enjoying fulfilling career in sales department in the international company producing lead-acid batteries. She graduated from the Psychology of Management. She loves expand her knowledge. Moving to Scotland was a great opportunity to deepen her language abilities and competencies. She loves travelling, meeting new people and Greek cuisine. Lucyna works at the PFSC as a Welfare Rights Officer.






Magdalena Sosnowska - Admin Worker

Magda has a master’s degree from History with specialisation of International Relations, also in 2009 finished postgraduate studies in Workplace Law. Magda was born in Torun and she lives in Scotland for the last 2 years and from the beginning she was involved in the work of the Polish Family Support Centre in Edinburgh. Magda is always very open to other people and provides support and advice. Magda is meeting new people on regular basis and has individual approach to the clients.











Justyna Gawlik - Welfare Rights’ Officer Volunteer

Justyna is in her final year of undergraduate Law degree at the Edinburgh Napier University. She is commencing a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice next year at the Edinburgh University, which will enable her to begin her career path in legal profession.

She has been a volunteer at the Scottish Child Law Centre for over nine months, where she is gaining experience in family and child law. This placement provides her with in-depth knowledge of legal matters related to education law, children’s rights, the process and operation of parental responsibilities and rights as well as civil dispute resolution management.

She has completed an HNC Legal Services through which she acquired legal secretarial skills including writing dispositions and wills and developed her legal knowledge in civil and criminal litigation.

Aside from her passion for law, she has a strong interest in translation. She has done a number of translation for the Scottish Child Law Centre related to child’s and parents’ legal rights. She is a member of the Edinburgh University Translators’ Society, where she is carrying out Wikipedia articles’ translations.

Justyna is hoping to become a family or employment law solicitor in the future



Justyna Czarnacka – Wojtysek - Psychologist, specialised in clinical and family psychology


Justyna graduated in 2004 with a Master’s degree in psychology at the University of Łódź. Throughout her degree, she attended numerous workshops on clinical and family psychology. In 2008 she successfully completed a training in Systemic Family Therapy at the Polish Erickson Institute and consequently obtained a certificate of psychotherapist at the Polish Psychological Association. She has many years of experience in working with the individual client as well as couples and families. Justyna is also a member of the British Psychological Society. She masters her skills by attending the specialist training and demanding the supervision. As an academic, she led workshops and lectures for the students at IPT Educational Center in Dublin and The College of Art and Technology. As a learner of the Systemic Family Theraphy, she believes that every family is a system and that each individual influences the other members of the family. In addition to the standard therapeutic techniques, she uses genogram, hypnotic trance, a metaphor and a symbol. Justyna takes her job with passion and zeal.  She aims at discovering people’s potential and strenght to overcome their difficulties. She supports the implementation of positive change. Founder of the Psychological Cetre" Ego-Centrum". Justyna currently cooperates with PFSC.


Richard Karus – IT Specialist, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, MIETF, MIEEE, MBCS


Richard studies Engineering in Computer Systems and Networks at Edinburgh Napier University. In PFSC he manages the infrastructure and internet services. Richard also founded his own company where he creates aplications for firms and offers specialist counselling on the server functioning and web infrastructure. He is a member of Internet Engineering Task Force i Scotland Hacks. In his free time, Richard helps educating young people on the importance of online communication and safety. He cooperates with Police Scotland with the aim of broadening his knowledge on criminal sciences.

Apprenticeship: Scotland Hacks/SICSA, Computacenter/N.H.S., Orange Business Services, Bank of New York, Santander UK plc, N.G. Bailey, ECM, DirectLine, and Oracle: Senior Lead Engineering, Migration, Deployment, Infrastructure Engineering, Ethical Hacking, Database Administration, and Cisco Engineering & Cisco IP Telephony for various companies.

Awards: UK Regional Microsoft Network Administration Champion; Cyber Security Challenge UK Cipher Team (Silver); 3x Worldskills UK Competition Finalist/Medallist; Cisco UK NetRiders Top 10; Scottish Cisco Network Administrator Medallist.



Jakub Zegadło – Recruitment and Support

Jakub graduated in Marketing Management with Languages at Edinburgh Napier University. He is responsible for providing our team with the most qualified specialists from different fields. Jakub actively participates in the life of the organisation and promotes the organisation, locally and abroad.  He participates in seminars and workshops on the development of charity organisations and its employment procedures. He is a creative and trustworthy person.






Małgorzata Raczyńska – Finance and accounting support


Małgorzata is involved in the work of the PFSC since 2009. She studied Financial Services Management at Edinburgh Napier University. In addition to finance, her passions involve studying Scots history and culture. She is an ambitious, communicative and tolerant person who is always willing to help others.
