FAMILY SUPPORT PROJECT

Project funded by the Polish Consulate General of Poland in Edinburgh. Project supports  Polish families including children and young people, providing tailored packages of support to combat disadvantage, social isolation and improve community cohesion. The project has been developed based on consultation with Polish families, experience of supporting Polish families over the last fifteen years and a feasibility study. The project aims to help the social, mental and emotional development of disadvantaged Polish families and to provide a comprehensive level of family support in order to enhance family life. Services are accessible and culturally sensitive. The project has a particular focus on disadvantaged Polish families and offers advice and drop-in service; psychological consultations and assessment; support groups and befriending.

COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Project funded by the City of Edinburgh Council young people (aged 11-17) accessed a variety of mental health and wellbeing services tailored to their individual and collective needs like individual counselling, group counselling sessions, workshops and support groups.

 

 

SUPPORTING WOMEN FROM POLISH ETHNIC COMMUNITIES

Project funded by Awards for All and Henry Duncan (Corra Foundation). The project aims to support women and girls from Polish ethnic communities who have experienced psychological or emotional abuse. The initiative focuses on improving their mental well-being and life circumstances through a range of tailored support services. These include individual psychological consultations and skill-building workshops designed to boost self-confidence, encourage independence, and foster emotional resilience. In addition, the project will run an awareness campaign to educate the community about different forms of abuse, how to recognize them, and where to seek help. The campaign will aim to reduce stigma, promote open conversations, and ensure that affected individuals know they are not alone and that support is available.

 

 

CBT PSYCHOTHERAPY for YOUNG PEOPLE

The project funded by Dr Guthrie and Inchrye Trust: The project provides targeted support for young people, focusing on their mental health and emotional well-being. It includes access to a qualified CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) psychotherapist who offers individual therapy sessions to help young people manage anxiety, stress, low mood, and other emotional challenges.

CBT PSYCHOTHERAPY

The project funded by the Bank of Scotland Foundation to provide CBT psychotherapy sessions once a week for Polish adults facing mental health challenges, with a specific focus on trauma/PTSD and depression. These sessions are designed to actively help individuals identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, fostering positive progress and growth. 

SUPPORTING FAMILIES FACING FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES

Project funded by National Lottery Cost of Living Fund .As part of the project, we target low-income families, unemployed or underemployed individuals and those experiencing homelessness. Our support includes mental health services, advice and advocacy, workshops, and educational programs. We provide tailored support to help individuals manage their mental well-being, access essential services, and improve their overall quality of life. Additionally, we offer practical assistance with housing, employment, and financial stability, ensuring individuals have the resources and skills needed to overcome their challenges.

COMMUNITY CAFE

The project funded by EVOC. Our focus is to reduce isolation among Polish adults in Edinburgh by creating a welcoming space where they can connect, socialise, share experiences, and access peer support. We aim to foster a sense of community and belonging, while providing a platform for mutual help, cultural exchange, and the promotion of mental well-being. Peers and Befriending support promotes social integration, reduces isolation, offers emotional and practical support, empowers and builds confidence. Our office is well known to our community and a welcoming atmosphere is what prides our work. Casual meetings with tea and coffee.

COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT FOR VULNERABLE PEOPLE

The funding from Robertson Trust supports disadvantaged and vulnerable people with mental health problems, in financial difficulties, in poverty and homeless. The support involves counselling sessions to improve their mental wellbeing, welfare advice to support their financial circumstances, workshops and support groups to encourage socialising and finding solution to problems.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

The partnership with NHS and its funding allows us to provide psychological support to Polish individuals that struggle with their mental health, particularly focusing on individuals with low self-esteem and confidence and on improving their overall mental wellbeing. 

BE  A HEALTHIER ME - SUPPORTING ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD FOR LEITH COMMUNITY

The projects aim to encourage healthy eating, lifestyle and change the eating habits of our communities. 100 meal kits (50 soup & 50 meals) were distributed among Polish community. 

WINTER PANTRY PROJECT

"When a small donation can make a change" - an ongoing project exchanging surplus of food. We are making a difference and spreading kindness throughout the community.
